The solution is to install a better graphics driver. ![]() The QEMU version used will likely not make a difference. ![]() This is an issue in VirtualBox and VMWare as well as QEMU - the graphics drivers included by default with Windows 9x operating systems (Windows 95, 98, and ME) usually do not support higher than VGA 640x480 resolution and 16-bit color depth when paired with the emulated graphics cards that QEMU provides. The available desktop resolution/colo(u)r gamut in Windows depends on the graphics card configured in the emulator and the driver you have installed for it.
